Qur'an manuscript by Hattat Aziz Efendi.

This example is from the first page in the Quran  Manuscript by Hattat Aziz Efendi handwritten in the Naskh script. It is a smaller and rounded script. It was most commonly used in inscribing administrative documents and transcribing books, most importantly the Quran, because of its easy legibility.

Naskh is described as being a san-serif script. San-serif scripts in western typography and lettering are categorized by having no extending features called serifs. Similarly in Arabic type, it means that ascending and descending characters lack hooks.

The Naskh script also uses added glyphs above and below the letter which makes the script even more legible.
